Copper Mountain Ski Trip 2008
Bobby and I took a trip the last weekend Copper Mountain was open. There was lots of sun and pretty decent conditions for spring skiing.
My friend Bobby found a decent fare direct to Denver so we decided to do a short ski trip. I hadn't been snowboarding the whole season, so I thought it might be nice to hit the slopes.
Our first glitch on the trip was that our flight from Atlanta that was supposed to put us into Denver at around midnight was about 2 hours late. We finally got to my friend Graeme's apartment where we were staying at about 3am.
We didn't end up getting over the pass to the ski areas till 10am or so, and weren't on the slopes till about noon. I still go in some good snowboarding and there was lots of snow. It even snowed while we were there.
We stayed with friends of my parents in Frisco, and that was great. We were so tired we went to bed pretty early and didn't wake up as early as we should have.
The next day the conditions were warmer, but still pretty good. I'll probably be back for more spring skiing.
After dinner in Denver with Graeme at a sushi restaurant in a cool area of Denver. Then it was off to the airport for out red-eye flights back. Bobby's was earlier, so I found the 24 hour bar and stayed there till my 1am flight boarded. It was uneventful back to Atlanta other than not really being able to sleep -- I don't like those red-eye flights!
