Tech
Here is where I put most of my ramblings about techie stuff, which will probably be most of my postings. I have a couple of sub-folders for Miata and G1/Android items:
- Ubuntu Settings/Configuration from the command line
- This is my list of command line apps to run to get the GUI settings and configuration screens in Ubuntu.
- Ubuntu 9.04 Boxee and MythTV Install
- My steps to setting up an Ubuntu 9.04 based Boxee and MythTV system.
- Living Room Media/Router Computer Setup
- I have been struggling for a while to set up a computer attached to my LCD screen in the living room. I decided I should document it, in case it actually works this time.
- Clear Wimax in Atlanta/Decatur
- Here are my initial experiences with Clear wimax. Not all that good, but I am still trying to decide if I will keep it.
- G1/Android Google Account Reset/Switch
- Short description of how to change the Google Account a G1/Android phone is tied to.
- My .bashrc file
- Miata Genie Garage Door Opener Button Mod
- Not something most people would do, but I decided to install a garage door opener button the dash of my 2008 Miata.
- 2008 Miata MX-5 Stereo Head Unit Removal
- My HowTo for removing the stock Sound by Bose head unit in my 2008 Mazda Miata MX-5.
- Apache2 SSL configuration on Ubuntu/Debian
- This took way too long for me to figure out so I am creating my own HowTo.
- Boost Build/Jam on Ubuntu 8.04
- Just a short list of how to configure Boost Build and bjam for Ubuntu.
- My Emacs startup file (.emacs)
- Here is what goes in my .emacs file normally.
- Ubuntu/Debian init.d script for Zope/Plone
- Here is yet another script for starting up Zope/Plone instances. This one is Ubuntu/Debian compatible and allows for starting up multiple instances. It is also compatible with the newer "bin/instance" controller, and doesn't assume "zopectl".
- Convert FLV to play in Windows Media Player
- This is my ultra-basic how-to for converting a Flash Video to something that Windows Media Player can understand using free software.
- Creating VMplayer "appliances"
- I have figured out a lot about how to create VMware virtual system images use the free VMPlayer rather than using VMware Workstation. Here are some of my notes from setting them up.
- Plone 3.0 install with buildout on Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy
- It took me a few tries to figure this out, so I decided I'll write it up. Some of the commands are from what I remember doing, so they may not be exactly right.
